Omada 33: Die Heimat & Ruins

Omada 33 reflects upon the aspects of homeland, social identity and personal freedom and presents the performance "Die Heimat” directed by Evropi Thomopoulou and Christos Katsinas' photo exhibition “Ruins” in the frame of the Festival Theatrical Compositions 2013/14

The houses I had, they took them away from me.  I don’t know much about houses. I know they have their own nature, nothing else. New at first, like babies who play in gardens with the tassels of the sun.They embroider colored shutters and shining doors over the day. When the architect’s finished,they change, they frown or smile or even grow stubborn with those who stayed behind, with those who went away with others who’d come back if they could or others who disappeared,now that the world’s become an endless hotel.

Die Heimat | Οmada33

In the frame of the Festival “Theatrical Compositions 2013/14”, Omada33 adapts Hermann Sudermann’s theatrical play “Heimat” and ponders over the meaning of homeland, social identity and individual freedom. 

"Heimat is your land, your home, your people. It is your roots, your language, your childhood. All the special aspects of your homeland.  Suddenly I looked at my homeland as if it was the first time: everything had changed. But in reality, it was the exact opposite: everything was the same, except for me”

Θεατρική Παράσταση βασισμένη στο ομώνυμο έργο του Hermann Sudermann

"Heimat είναι ο τόπος, το σπίτι, οι άνθρωποί σου. Είναι οι ρίζες σου, η γλώσσα σου, η παιδικότητά σου. Είναι όλα εκείνα που θα ονόμαζε κανείς πατρίδα. Ξαφνικά αντίκρισα την πατρίδα μου σαν να την έβλεπα για πρώτη φορά. Όλα είχαν αλλάξει. Στην πραγματικότητα ωστόσο συνέβαινε ακριβώς το αντίθετο: όλα ήταν ίδια, το μόνο που είχε αλλάξει ήμουν εγώ.“   

Στο πλαίσιο του Φεστιβάλ Θεατρικές Συνθέσεις 2013/14, η Ομάδα 33 διασκευάζει το έργο "Heimat“ του Hermann Sudermann κι αναμετριέται με τις έννοιες της πατρίδας, της κοινωνικής ταυτότητας και της ατομικής ελευθερίας.

Omada33 presents – on assignment – the photo exhibition “Ruins” by Chrisros Katsinas at beton7café, from March 28^th 2014 till April 12^th 2014. The exhibition is held in the frame of the performance Die Heimat.*
